(Richmond, IN)–A government watchdog group called Righting Richmond was announced Wednesday night at a gathering at the Holiday Inn. The Virginia-based Institute for Justice was there. “We’re here because every homeowner has a constitutional right to protect their home and a right to due process. We don’t believe that 30 days is sufficient time to bring a home up to code,” said Melinda Haring. Some homeowners complained about that 30-deadline to clean up properties. “There’s a lot of miscommunication, a lot of personal attacks that have been coming through,” said Richmond Common Council member Phil Quinn. The meeting was organized by Anastasis of Richmond.
